Why we built
Sentio.
Not to fix. Not to cure. Not to manage. Just to feel, for a moment, what someone else experiences every single day.
The word sentio comes from Latin. It means to feel, to sense, to perceive. It is the root of words like sensation, sentiment, empathy. We chose it because it captures something we believe is missing from most conversations about neurodiversity and mental health in Romania: the felt experience.
Romania has over 40,000 registered autistic people. Less than one percent are employed. Formal support (therapy, structured education, workplace accommodation) stops almost entirely at age 18. The families, teachers and caregivers who step into that gap do so largely alone, without tools, without community, and without a way to truly understand what the person in front of them is experiencing.
We built Sentio because that gap is not acceptable. And because the first step toward closing it is not a policy or a programme. It is understanding. Real understanding. The kind that comes from stepping, even briefly, into someone else's sensory world.
What we believe
We believe that most families are doing their best with very little. We believe that teachers want to help but don't always know how. We believe that employers are more willing than they appear, and that clinicians are stretched impossibly thin. We built Sentio for all of them.
We also built it for the people at the centre of those conversations: the autistic adults, the people living with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder or OCD, the young people with ADHD who spent years being told they were lazy. Sentio is not a platform about neurodiversity. It is a platform for the people living it, and for everyone around them who wants to show up better.
Sentio is a Romanian platform, built for Romanian families, in Romanian and English. We are applying for PoIDS EU funding to make every feature permanently free for families who cannot afford a subscription.
